Some stuff about me

Hello! My name is Allen Bernardo Jr. I strive to be a devout Catholic, an aspiring artist, particularly in the field of videography/filmmaking/cinematography. I also do photography as well.

So I’ve known myself for most of my life, and I like to think that I’ve been into photography since I was a little kid. I didn’t really take it up until my senior year of high school. I bought my first (used) DSLR kit, read a lot on the internet about the basics of photography, and the rest is history. Except, I actually drifted away from photography for around a decade, and more recently had become interested in the videography side. The first camera I bought since that first Canon DSLR (I can’t remember the particular model, it might have been an XSi 🤔) was a Canon M6ii a few years ago. I still didn’t know much about videography at that point, but fortunately with my experience years ago with my DSLR, I had a decent grasp on things like the “exposure triangle,” how shutter speed, ISO etc. worked together to create the images you capture. Fast forward a few more years to today, and I still have that M6ii, but I’ve moved to the Panasonic camera system with a Lumix S5II, a great value for its price point I must say! I bought a (used) 24-70mm F/2.8 EF lens to adapt to my S5II, though nowadays I love to shoot anamorphic, so I tend to do that whenever I can. 😄

My experience includes event videography, real estate videography and photography, and what I’m really drawn to is the narrative, documentary style of work, including interviews and whatnot. I try to help my home Parish when I can, and some of the (video) work I’ve done for them is among my favorite pieces I’ve ever done. Hopefully I can include the latest one on this site 🤓

Hoping there is much more to come!

I also painted this years ago 😬
